Shelby Womack- House of Bella creator

In 2010, North Carolina discontinued the Pell Grant forcing hundreds of disenfranchised students to take out excess loans, move off campus or drop out. House of Bella follows the lives of four students (2 males and 2 females) who signed their lease the day before the grant was terminated. This is their pursuit of the American Dream. They conspire to turn their empty townhouse into a booming, lucrative nightclub equipped with two wet-bars, a VIP balcony, gogo dancers and an exotic red room. The house attracts every high and low life in the city, which creates more problems than it solves. Though the roommates can barely make simple decisions such as what brand of cereal to buy without ripping each other’s hair out, whenever trouble strikes they band together as a family to protect their house of love, refuge and secrets.
